About Corandirk House

Corandirk House is a purpose built home, a residence providing Supportive and Assisted Residential Services for the individuals who are of Ages 20 and over. Corandirk House is also a residence for both singles and couples, requiring supported accommodation. Just as the meaning of CORANDIRK in the aboriginal language, CORANDIRK HOUSE is a “Good Place to Live”.

The facility is registered with and licensed by Victorian Department Health and Human Services to provide services to up to 40 residents. Corandirk House provides accommodation, full board and assistance with personal care for the residents, be it for a long term PERMAMENT stay, a short term TEMPORARY stay or for RESPITE and CONVALSCENCE.

The facility has secure KEYPAD Entry and Exit, Air Conditioning to common areas, Hydronic Central Heating System in all rooms (including common areas) and large living areas on both levels. There’s a Lift and the facility is Wheel Chair friendly. Outside, there is a lovely garden with a Gazebo and BBQ area used for Entertainment. There are two vegetable patches for residents who enjoy growing plants and vegetables. There is also a dedicated Quite Area for Reading or accessing the internet on the two state of the art Computers, available for use by the residents.

Corandirk House does not receive any subsidies or financial assistance from neither the Federal nor State governments. What this means is that you are not required to undergo any means testing or pay a bond. simply pay a weekly fee.

Accommodation Options

There are a variety of rooms to choose from which includes single with ensuites, single with shared bathrooms and rooms with direct access to the garden. There are also some larger premium rooms and a few double rooms with private ensuites.

All rooms have in built robes, hydronic heating, phone and TV points.The building is fitted with grab rails, non-slip flooring with all rooms are connected to an integrated emergency CALL BELL system.

Meals

All meals are cooked in house by our two specialist cooks. A four week rotated menu tailored in consultation with a qualified nutritionist, offers 6 meals/refreshments every day. These include breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and supper which are all prepared in house in a modern kitchen, maintaining a high standard of hygiene and food safety practices, offering a variety of dishes and cuisines.

Meals can also be catered according to individual needs and dietary requirements at addtional cost.

Activities

Regular activities may include Exercise Sessions, Bingo evenings, on-site Entertainment with Live Music and vocal performances, in house Movie Nights, occasional bus outings and shopping trips. For those interested in gardening, there are plenty of opportunities including elevated veggie patches to grow vegetables and plants.

Routine visits from doctors, chemist, podiatrist, dentist, massage therapist, beautician and hairdresser.

Fee and Charge

There are No Deposit required and Below Disability Pension . However , FEE are required to be paid Fortnightly In Advance . At Corandirk House , Fee are very competitive considering the services offered and are determined according to residents individual care needs and the type of room .
